I always wondered when I’d have something of value to write about – maybe today.
I logged into Facebook and wandered around a bit (haven’t been on there much – new job, life, etc. takes up my time – also part of a new show at Gallery North in Setauket NY).
Anyway – I found two of my flower photographs on a Best of LI page on Facebook, reworked with some filters by another photographer. My babies!!! I commented, we “discussed” it, and he took them down. He initially claimed they were his, then said he posted them in error – forgot the originals weren’t his photos. He’s done this before. Copyright or respect for another’s work didn’t seem to faze him. I’m guessing he also reworked some orchid photographs – he took those off too.
It’s made me rethink where my photographs are posted on the web. And what size they are.
If anyone wants to comment, suggest how to protect work, please let me know.
Do you take out the meta-data/camera information? I know Photoshop offers to do that when you use the prepare for web action & leave in the copyright.
Best way to watermark?
Comments welcomed.
